About Me

I was born in 1979 in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, and am still not dead. I lived in Queensland until I was 4, when I moved to Western Australia. We lived in Albany, then moved to Perth, where I've lived ever since. Apart from that year in Canada, of course. I've travelled a fair few times - to Hong Kong [1998,2007], US [1998,1999,2002,2007], Canada [1998,1999,2002,2003,2006,2007], Singapore [2006,2007], England [2003,2006], Scotland [2006] and Japan [2003,2004,2007]

I had an uneventful 12 years of schooling at Hollywood Senior High School for high school, and Subiaco Primary School. I then did a Bachelor of Science at ECU. The time spent at Edith Cowan was far from exciting, but it meant I could go to Canada on student change for two terms, which was really cool. -40 a few days! (Thank you, I'm here all week. Try the steak). I now work at another University. They're fun.

My favourite band is the Barenaked Ladies. I first heard "One Week", one week before I went to Canada. I took it as an omen. During my 2002 visit, I met two of their founding members, Jim and Andrew Creggan.

I love The Simpsons, Futurama, King of The Hill and Family Guy. In the past, I was also a die hard fan of the X Files and The Bill. I was an extra in one of Health Ledgers' first TV shows, which would give me a Bacon Number of 3, and I co-wrote an assignment in high school with someone who has an Erdos number of 3, which gives me a hybrid Erdos-Bacon number of 7, which is fairly respectable

What is it with the fricken ducks??

I like ducks. I find them amusing. I think Gary Larson's Far Side first showed me this. It was one of my first introducktions to duck humour, when I was about 11. 16 years later, I still find them amusing. I have a large collection of plastic/china/wood/etc ducks. Current count is at about 100 and still growing.
